A family legacy

Jacob Rieger & Company was originally founded in 1887 in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district, known at the time as “The Wettest Block in the World. That distillery grew to offer over 100 alcoholic products nationwide, with its flagship product being the iconic Monogram Whiskey, closing during Prohibition.

In 2014, the distillery was reopened and relocated to the historic East Bottoms neighborhood, becoming the first distillery in Kansas City since Prohibition. Their launch spirit created an entirely new category of American Whiskey, Kansas City style that pays tribute to their history with a small addition of 15yr Oloroso Sherry, a practice that dates back to the late 19th century, and they have also reintroduced Rieger’s Monogram Whiskey, a label that has not existed since Prohibition, as a limited edition specialty bottling.
